I feel like I’m wrestling a kracken. A very energetic and slippery kracken.
In other words work is progressing on the Gates of Fire and Earth, book 2 of Games of Fire, although not nearly as quickly as I would like! For some reason this book, the twelfth I’ve written, is being a true bugbear. Even when a chapter flows well, I’ll finish it and realize a day later that I a) forgot a character or b) the plot doesn’t align with previous events. #facepalm
I’m only eight chapters from finishing the first draft but face a mountain of edits that will most likely involve large flow charts and the rearrangement/rewriting of chapters. I picture a scene not unlike a detective’s case board to get this thing organized…
But I really am trying to get it out to you!
Hopefully before Christmas. That is my goal at this point. But I also know I want it to be better than good. It has to be awesome. And if that takes until 2017, then that is what it is going to take. I hope you’ll forgive me (please).
