It has been just over a year since Spark of Defiance, book 1 of the Games of Fire trilogy, was published. A Year!
I had BIG plans to finish the entire trilogy in 2016. And I tried. I really did. Often I described writing book 2, the Gates of Fire & Earth, as trying to wrestle a kracken. It did NOT want to flow or behave. Never before have my characters been so stubborn. But then, never have they faced such huge challenges!
I knew when I started writing Games of Fire that this trilogy was a big story with lots of characters and plots and … ok, I admit it. I have a LOT more empathy for George R.R. Martin now. Lol. I know this book isn’t his A Song of Ice & Fire series, but it seems to be mine. Though I’m hoping the final book, A New Goddess, behaves with slightly better manners.
